Theme parks & attractions in Denmark

Denmark holds two of Europe's most storied parks. Tivoli Gardens has occupied the centre of Copenhagen since 1843 and is as much a landscaped garden, concert venue and restaurant quarter as it is an amusement park — locals buy season passes just for the atmosphere. Three hours west in Billund sits the original LEGOLAND, opened in 1968 next to the LEGO factory itself.

The two parks suit different trips: Tivoli slots into any Copenhagen city break (evenings are the magic hours), while LEGOLAND Billund is a destination in its own right, usually paired with the LEGO House experience centre in town.

Planning notes for Denmark

  • Tivoli entry and rides are priced separately — an unlimited ride wristband pays off after 4–5 rides.
  • LEGOLAND Billund is calmest right after Danish schools return in mid-August.
  • Both parks run special seasons (Halloween, Christmas) with different hours — check the calendar before booking.

Details are sourced from official park websites and may change seasonally — always confirm hours and prices before you travel.
