Inside Aqualibi: what you’re paying for
Aqualibi is the indoor water park on the Walibi Belgium site in Wavre, run by the same Compagnie des Alpes operator, and the water is kept at 29°C all year. It is a compact, tropical-themed hall rather than a sprawling resort pool, with ten slides, a wave pool, whirlpools, a relaxation pool, a rapid river and two children’s zones under one roof.
Aqualibi tickets buy unlimited time on the day — there is no slot system — but no re-entry once you leave. The park’s own figure for an average visit is about four hours.
The slides worth queuing for:
- Banzai — a duelling water coaster where you race your friends with high-speed climbs and drops over more than 170 metres of track.
- Pomakai — a vortex slide that starts 16.8 metres up and ends in a dizzying descent through the funnel, with over 130 metres of sliding.
- Waikiki — over 170 metres of slide that send you outdoors and headlong into a giant wave wall.
- Wiki Wiki — a 147-metre mat-racing slide starting 16 metres up, built for head-to-head competition.
- Flash and the park’s 16-metre dive slide — short, fast drops for confirmed thrill-seekers.
Some of the newest slides require riders below a certain size to be accompanied by an adult; staff measure children at the lifeguard station and give them a height wristband that is checked throughout the park.
For calmer hours, the wave pool alternates between calm and wild waves, the whirlpools and relaxation pool let adults sit out a slide session, and the rapid river switches from rippling calm to sudden rapids.
For families, two zones matter:
- Little Explorers — mini attractions for children aged about 3 to 8, with an adult.
- Kiddie Bay — fountains, cascades and small custom slides; there is no minimum age for the zone, but its slides are only open to children taller than 90 cm.
Aqualibi suits families with children from toddler age up and teenagers who want a few hours of slides. Serious water-park fans with a car may find it short compared with the big German resorts; what it does well is year-round warmth 25 km from Brussels. On Tiqets it was rated 4.1/5 from 784 reviews at the time of checking.
Timing is everything
The most important thing to know about Aqualibi is that it does not open every day. Outside Belgian school holidays the calendar for November and early December looks like this:
- Wednesday: 14:00–20:00.
- Friday: 16:00–22:00, the late-night opening.
- Saturday and Sunday: 10:00–20:00.
- Monday, Tuesday and Thursday: usually closed.
During school holidays it opens daily, generally 10:00–20:00, with longer hours on Fridays. Over Christmas 2026 it opens every day from 19 December to 3 January, closing at 18:00 on 24 and 31 December and opening at 14:00 on 25 December and 1 January. It then closes for maintenance from 4 January to 5 February 2027 and reopens on 6 February. Always check the official calendar before travelling — hours shift by date.
Crowds follow the Belgian school calendar, and wet holiday weekdays fill the hall fastest. For the calmest experience:
- Choose a term-time weekend morning and be inside at 10:00, when the slide queues are shortest.
- Or book a Friday late opening with the Sunset ticket and swim the last three hours for less.
On Saturday 14 November 2026 Aqualibi hosts a Wave Party with live DJ sets from 19:00 to 01:00; it needs a dated ticket and regular tickets are not valid.
Insider tip: Pack the right swimwear before you leave home. Board shorts and bermudas are refused at Aqualibi, and buying a compliant suit at reception (from €17.90) wipes out the online discount you booked for.
How to save on tickets
- Book dated tickets online. The box-office price is €37.50, and dated online tickets on quieter days start at €28 — a saving of up to €9.50 per person.
- Measure your children. Prices go by height: under 1 m is free, 1–1.20 m pays €15, and only those over 1.20 m pay the full rate. Height is measured without shoes.
- Use the Sunset ticket. Until 18 December 2026, €28 online (€37.50 on site) gets you the final three opening hours — on a Friday that means 19:00–22:00. The online offer ends on 11 December.
- Ask about reduced rates. Seniors aged 65+ and people with disabilities pay €31.50 with proof; pregnant visitors pay a reduced rate at the ticket office with a medical certificate.
- Buy an Aquacard for groups. Ten entries cost €275 (€27.50 each), valid for a year, with up to five used per visit.
- Go annual if you’re local. The Aqualibi Pass costs €125; the Red & Blue Pass at €240 adds Walibi Belgium.
- Take the train. A Belgian rail Discovery Ticket with the park’s code gives 40% off a return trip to Bierges-Walibi, and saves the €13 parking.
Getting there without the hassle
Aqualibi shares the Walibi Belgium site at Boulevard de l’Europe 100, Wavre, about 25 km south-east of Brussels.
- By train: Bierges-Walibi station is roughly 150 metres from the entrance. Check Belgian rail (SNCB) for connections from Brussels, and buy the discounted Discovery Ticket.
- By car: the site sits beside the E411 Brussels–Namur motorway and is signposted as Walibi. Parking costs €13 per vehicle; Kiss & Ride drop-offs are free.
- On site: personal belongings must go in a locker, and the locker wristband is free — return it when you leave.
The pools and wave pool are accessible to visitors with reduced mobility, but wheelchair users cannot access the slides.
Pack before you go:
- Compliant swimwear — briefs, tight swim boxers, a bikini or swimsuit, or a lycra suit no longer than knee and elbow, with no zips or buttons.
- Swim nappies for children under 2 — they are required.
- Your own towel — the official information does not mention towel hire.
- Money for lunch — picnics are not allowed, so plan to eat at Palm Beach, which has vegetarian and vegan dishes and allergen lists at each counter.
Make it a trip
- The obvious pairing is Walibi Belgium on the same site — ride coasters on one day and recover in 29°C water the next. Remember combined day tickets only appear during promotions.
- In Brussels, Mini-Europe makes a gentle two-hour family stop, open until early January before its winter break.
- With a car, Pairi Daiza near Mons adds a big zoo day to a Belgian weekend.
- Partner hotels sell stay-and-entry packages if you want to avoid driving back after a late Friday swim.
